what is the best nutritional value you austinites see if i happen to eat lunch in the Arbor Walk Shopping Center? |
Tough One!
Well, there are definitely limited options at the Arbor Walk! I'd say steer clear of Chuckie Cheese and Mighty Fine for sure. There is a Potbelly's sandwich shop there. You could get a salad, wrap, or simple sandwich with whole wheat bread, turkey or chicken and lots of veggies (limited or no sauce!). Or, there's a sushi place (Maki) where you can get fish, seaweed salad, etc. Aim for small amounts of brown or steamed rice and mostly fish and veggies when eating sushi. I think there's a Chipotle close by. You could get their salad with extra beans instead of rice and chicken. I always add the vegetables that they use on the burritos on top of the salad. It makes it warm and adds some variety to the mix. If you're at one of the other options they have there, really just focus on veggies first, then lean protein, and if whole grains are an option, take that option! Portion control is key! It is a rare occasion that a restaurant will serve you the portion you need. Be sure to eat what you should and save the rest for later, or throw it away. Good luck!
