Weight

My question is how can I lose the stomach fat and love handles? I really am interesting in losing this, but I do not know how to go by on losing it. Can you provide me with any help on what I need to do as far as any special type of exercising? Thanks!

Dehydration

What is the best thing you can do for dehydration? Should you take any down-time with regards to exercising? Thank you, heather

General wieght loss and Fitness Resources for newbie

| | |
Hi - I am just getting into working out with the goal of losing a spare tire and getting more fit in general. I'm 6'3" and 270 lbs. My goal is to build more muscle and drop to a wieght of around 230 lbs. My question is - As a newbie to the workout world, I need some resources that will teach me about the best practices of getting fit. For example: How much of my workout should be cardio and how much should be wieght or resistance training? What to eat before and after a work out to maximize my efforts? I dont eat alot of vegitables particularly greens, what can I do to suppliment my diet? These are just a few of the questions that I have in mind! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Best way to tone up.

I have been working out 5 days a week cardio and light weight trainning. I have a pretty flat stomach but my major area I need help losing is the love handles in the back what is the best exercise to target that area? I eat well lots of fruits and vegtables make up 75% of my food for the day. I also work out for 1 hour 5 days a week but I am seeing no results on my lovehandles on the back. I am 130lbs and little over 5 feet tall so any help you can give would be great.

I want to lose 25 pounds

I am 30 years old. 5' 4" and 140 pounds. I want to lose 20 to 25 pounds as quickly as possible. I need a diet and exercise program that is effective. I am a busy single mother of two and I don't have a lot of time to waste. Any help for me out there?

Food/ab questions

How much of the food I eat is actually stored & used in my body? (I'm trying to figure out how a bad day of eating compares to a healthy day of eating and how much of the food I eat is helping/hurting my diet) Is it true that when you work out muscles it causes tears and when they grow back/heal they are coming back bigger? If that is the case, do abdominals work the same? I've got a flat tummy now I'm trying to create some more definition. Any tips for my abs will be much appreciated!

Getting Started

I'm 30 yrs of age and I used to workout out all the time at one point... this was about 6 yrs ago. Now I'm about 60lbs over weight and I'm trying to get back into it. I know what I'm supposed to do as far as exercising but I feel as though my body can't handle some the activities I'm trying to do to get back in shape. How do I start exercises such as jogging without it making my back so sore. Because I gotta tell ya, I'm feeling pretty old right now.

Toning issues

I am 30 years old. I lost about 15 pounds last year and now I would like to focus on toning my problem areas just as thighs and hips. I do my lunges and my squats and I bike for 30 minutes at least 4 times a week but I dont see any results.I eat about 1200 to 1500 a day.Any suggestions on what i could do? Thanks

Weight Loss - Metabolism

|
Hi, I'm new to this site, and am at a point in my life where I'd like to make serious long term/life changes, but need some help. I am a 30 year old mother of 3 and while time can be difficult in large chunks of time, I can manage a block of +/- an hour @ 3x or so a week. I am looking to lose about 30 lbs over the next 5 months (in time for our beach vacation over the summer) -- going from @ 160 lbs to 130ish. I work from home on Mon, Wed & Fri, and find that I can get a 5 mile run in on those days. I also take my oldest son to soccer practice on Mon & Wed, and have @ 1 hour for running/walking then. I am training myself to run the Capital 10K in @ 6 weeks. I am afraid, though, that I'm doing this "wrong". Will I mess up my metabolism? What should I concentrate on when and for how long, etc? How can I fully optimize my time to burn the most fat and calories to reach not only my weight loss goal but get me ready for my first 10K run? I would be grateful for any suggestions and/or tips to help me reach my goals! Thanks! heather
