What to eat for lunch in a fast food world...

I wake up very early (5:15 am) everyday and don't pack a lunch because I like being able to leave the office for an hour everyday. I am trying to lose weight and I know that diet/nutrition is key. I usually like to sit down for a meal but restaurant choices are limited (Chili's, Black Eyed Pea, etc). What do you recommend to eat at restaurants like these that won't hurt my diet? Please help!

General wieght loss and Fitness Resources for newbie

| | |
Hi - I am just getting into working out with the goal of losing a spare tire and getting more fit in general. I'm 6'3" and 270 lbs. My goal is to build more muscle and drop to a wieght of around 230 lbs. My question is - As a newbie to the workout world, I need some resources that will teach me about the best practices of getting fit. For example: How much of my workout should be cardio and how much should be wieght or resistance training? What to eat before and after a work out to maximize my efforts? I dont eat alot of vegitables particularly greens, what can I do to suppliment my diet? These are just a few of the questions that I have in mind! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Food/ab questions

How much of the food I eat is actually stored & used in my body? (I'm trying to figure out how a bad day of eating compares to a healthy day of eating and how much of the food I eat is helping/hurting my diet) Is it true that when you work out muscles it causes tears and when they grow back/heal they are coming back bigger? If that is the case, do abdominals work the same? I've got a flat tummy now I'm trying to create some more definition. Any tips for my abs will be much appreciated!

Six Pack

What should one eat to get a six pack. Should you reduce intake of food or what???

Protein

I'm trying to lose weight and heard that Protein can help you do just that..on the other side of the scope I also heard that protein makes you gain weight. I know that it's supposed to increase muscle mass but is it good for people trying to lose a substantial amount of weight.( I say this because in my current situation I'd like to know if I'm taking the right steps.)

Right Food

I need to lose weight, but I am also beginning to train to run a marathon. I really need to lose weight, but because of the training I keep seeing that I should eat well. I am 54 years old. So what is the right thing to do. I want to lose 60 pounds.

Salmon?

I love seafood, especially salmon. Is salmon fatty, should I eat it sparingly if I want to lose weight?
