Hi - I am just getting into working out with the goal of losing a spare tire and getting more fit in general. I'm 6'3" and 270 lbs. My goal is to build more muscle and drop to a wieght of around 230 lbs.
My question is - As a newbie to the workout world, I need some resources that will teach me about the best practices of getting fit. For example: How much of my workout should be cardio and how much should be wieght or resistance training? What to eat before and after a work out to maximize my efforts? I dont eat alot of vegitables particularly greens, what can I do to suppliment my diet?
These are just a few of the questions that I have in mind! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

How much of the food I eat is actually stored & used in my body? (I'm trying to figure out how a bad day of eating compares to a healthy day of eating and how much of the food I eat is helping/hurting my diet)
Is it true that when you work out muscles it causes tears and when they grow back/heal they are coming back bigger? If that is the case, do abdominals work the same? I've got a flat tummy now I'm trying to create some more definition. Any tips for my abs will be much appreciated! CaloriesSubmitted by Chrislyn20 on Tue, 12/11/2007 - 9:49am.

dddddddddd Nutrition and associate sport for bikerSubmitted by pnicolas on Thu, 09/13/2007 - 11:40am.

I’m 5’8” tall and weigh between 145 – 148 pounds!
I’m doing biking as favorite sport to keep healthy but am very lazy on any other sports.
I ride 3 to 4 times a week 15 miles and every other week one 40 miles ride.
Each time I ride too much, I get very tired and loose lots of weight.
As I’m skinny, I need to have good information on the best nutrition for biking as an amateur.
It is also very import to know when to eat!
As last information, I need to know what associate sport or exercise is mandatory for a biker.
Thanks for your help.
