I'm married and have a 2 1/2 year old son. Needless to say, it's difficult to find time to work out. I enjoy going to UT football games in the fall so I'm going to have to back off a bit from the food at tailgates if I'm going to keep the weight off that I hope to lose over the next two months.

Haven't really made a dent in weight loss for the last month...very frustrating but can't let it get me down. As long as I'm not gaining weight that's a good thing while I figure out what I need to change in order to lose another 20-30 lbs. Going to the boot camp today.

Well today is my birthday. Yeah. However, one way I've chosen to celebrate it is by running 3 miles and walking another 2. However, we are planning on going out to eat tonight. Hopefully I do well there.

Happy to see an additional pound off the scale reading. Feeling a little lighter on my feet. I must not be exercising enough to lose massive amounts of weight but just don't have time. Hopefully, slow and steady will get me to my goal in the next few months (maybe an additional 20lbs off by Thanksgiving would be nice).

Took the day off from working out to give body a chance to recuperate a little. Haven't taken a day off since last Thursday. Best part is that I got a deep tissue massage today. Should be ready to hit it hard in my bootcamp class tomorrow.

Finally seeing some progress...down another pound today. Participated in a boot camp class yesterday and today ran/walked 3 miles in 100+ degree heat. Hope I can see more progress

FINALLY!! I saw a pound come off the scale this morning and am at 240lbs which is a 21 lb weight loss so far. I've been pretty static for a couple weeks in my weight despite trying to watch what I eat and exercising. Hopefully this is a sign that my body is stopping the fight on holding on to the weight and ready to lose some more. Working out in a boot camp class today.

Getting a little down on the lack of progress lately in weight loss. However, I need to keep in mind that although I may lose this competition, any weight I lose is a positive and I need to keep it up regardless of the competition.

Getting a little frustrated with the little to no progress on weight loss. However, I do have to admit that I haven't felt this good in the past year so even if I don't see the results as quickly as I would like from a weight loss perspective, I still need to keep it up to continue to feel better.

I'm starting to actually feel pretty good now that I feel like I'm in better shape. I worked out on the rowing machine at the gym for 20 minutes and worked out 1 1/2 hrs on the elliptical. Also did some ab work today. Overall, I've been watching the calories...hoping that I'll start to see some more weight loss reduction.

Notsure what's happened day-to-day with my weight. I always weigh myself first thing in the morning to keep things consistant. For some reason I gained 2 pounds...although it's probably water weight, not sure why that is the case. Even worked out yesterday for an hour and didn't eat bad except for a small bag of potatoe chips which I wouldn't think would be enough to cause this water retention. Need to let this roll off me and continue on my journey in weight loss. But can't hide the disappointment.

Had a great day in terms of both eating and working out. Participated in a Bobby Bones' boot camp for the first time and was really pushed to my limits (thankfully it wasn't as hot as its been lately or it may have been too much). Struggling thru this class really has shown me that although I've made some fitness improvements, I still have a ways to go.

Did a little strenght training yesterday along with walking 4 miles on the treadmill. Felt very sluggish and thus didn't feel like running. Good thing about not feeling great was that I didn't have the desire to eat much. I feel like my appetite has gone down since starting this competition which is good. Hope to see some good results over the next few weeks.

Worked out yesterday via a one-hour boot camp class and one-hour on the elliptical. Celebrated the 4th of July (and wife's birthday) by trying to watch what I ate although I did end up having some cake. Actually feel like I have some stomach issues today so not sure that my recent weight loss is a good thing. Hope it subsides without any weight gain in the process.

I really haven't been eating much lately and have been trying to eat healthy when I do. Ever since coming back from San Antonio/Houston, I've seen some decent weight loss over the last two days. My wife's birthday is today so hopefully I don't stray to far. Will be taking a shadowboxing class today.

Worked out twice yesterday which helped me get back on track. I lost 2 pounds versus what I weighed yesterday although I'm sure some of that weight gain must have been water weight. Will work out heavily again today.

Been in San Antonio and Houston the last few days. Went to the zoo on Tuesday and walked all day. Was certainly tired but apparently maybe didn't burn that many calories. Went to Houston yesterday to try out for "Who Wants to be a Millionaire". Good news is that I passed the test so after the interview yesterday I'm in a waiting mode for the next several weeks to see if I'll be added to their contestant pool. Overall, I didn't eat that great but didn't really ramp up the quantity so that's why I'm down today about being 3 pounds heavier. Have already worked out once this morning and will workout later this afternoon.

Went to San Antonio for the week to visit family. Have done well so far with my diet. Went out on a 3 mile run and a 3 mile walk today. Hopefully I can work out everyday while I'm down here so that I can maintain my workout schedule.

Yesterday I attended the weekly shadowboxing class. Have a sore tore so went thru the class in pain but overall worked up a good sweat. Ate very well yesterday. When I woke up today, I had lost a pound but most importantly I have moved down a belt notch comfortably...yeah!!! Feel like I have some renewed vigor for this since I believe my body is now used to living on less intake. Hope to see some good weight loss improvements ahead.

Didn't go workout or run yesterday since I was tired from lack of sleep from night before. Planning to do kickboxing class today but I may be pursuaded to watch the whole game between Texas and LSU tonight. On bright side, I did see a one pound change.

Getting a little frustrated with sacrifices I'm making on the food that I'm passing up as well as still working out about an hour a day. No change in weight...but I do have to admit that my clothes fit a little better so perhaps exchanging some fat for muscle which isn't a bad thing. Just have to keep going and believe that I will see results with what I'm doing. Hope to run a 3 mile loop this evening.

Had a couple of setbacks over the weekend. First my right hip started to hurt on Saturday morning which really hurt my workouts over the weekend (actually I didn't even workout on Sunday). My right hip feels a lot better now but I'm going to wait to go running again until at least tomorrow evening. In the meantime, I'll go to the boot camp class this evening. Didn't eat as well as I would have liked but it certainly could have been a lot worse. Overall, stayed at 249lbs so didn't lose or gain any weight.

Yesterday was not such a great day since it was the first day since this competition began that I had not done some type of workout. However, I was just too tired and sore to do anything. Surprised when I weighed myself this morning that I was down a pound. Went out for a 3 mile run this morning which is unusual for me since I'm not a morning person but wanted to try to make up for yesterday. Planning to go to the gym later this afternoon to get on the elliptical so that I can lay off the pressure on my knees...won't burn nearly as many calories but still better than nothing.

Took shadow boxing class last night. However, when I got home, I ate a little more than I should have (not a whole lot more though). Anyways, when I woke up this morning and weighed myself, I saw no change. Need to fight thru it because I can't expect to lose weight every day necessarily. I've also been fighting congestion in my chest so hopefully I'll at least be able to run my the 3 mile loop that I started running last week again this evening.

Although I was fairly sore from having worked out in some fashion every day since last Friday, I decided to go for a 3.5 mile jog yesterday evening. Having run this same distance on both Friday and Saturday during the middle of the day, running in the evening was a breeze. I was even able to knock off 4:30 min off my overall time on Friday (although running in heat is going to be a lot more taxing). Today I plan to attend the shadowboxing class that I've been going to the last few months. Hopefully by ramping up by doing something active for at least 30 min-1hr per day and watching what I eat, I will continue to see results and not plateau.

Today I had some good moments and bad moments. The bad moment came when I ate a half a bag of tortilla chips...sort of fell of the wagon momentarily. However, as punishment I forced myself to walk 7 miles in the middle of the afternoon.

After running nearly 4 miles yesterday, I was only able to run 2 miles today before having to start walking because of the overwhelming heat. Hopefully this gets me motivated to get up early in the morning to run (of course my writing this blog at 11:47pm isn't going to help with my wanting to get up early tomorrow). I weighed in at 257lbs today but since I've been weighing at different times for all my weigh-ins, for me to see how I'm really doing I need to weigh in when I get up in the morning. Will do that tomorrow.

Well, after weighing in yesterday, I was extra motivated to get started. I went out for a jog for 30 minutes prior to the storms coming in last night. However, my biggest issue is food intake....I did very well there by eating two chicken breasts and a bowl of Romaine lettuce. I know it's only one day but hopefully this gets me on the right road.
