I usually will go out on Friday and Saturday and drink Bud Light. How badly is this affecting my weight loss? What should I be drinking? |
Alcohol
Here are a few of the numerous points on alcohol. It adversely affects your weight loss by creating a catabolic situation in your muscles and cortisol (stress hormone) levels go up. It dehydrates you making your metabolism sluggish. And alcohol itself is considered to be a very simple sugar that is able to be absorbed right through your stomach, which in the long run will affect your ability to regulate insulin levels. Unfortunately most of the week’s progress can be thrown out in a single night of drinking.
