Do I have enough time to get after it and actually make enough ground to win a prize? Doubtfully, but I'm going to give it my all....afterall, I could really use some $$!

Vacation was great, although probably didn't exercise enough to discount the caloric intake. Need to get after it...seems like de ja vu....

Doing okay...figure that just the altitude must be making my body work harder, right? ;o)

Well, yesterday was a long day in the car....drove with the family from Austin to Denver. Had planned to stop mid-way, but was making good time so continued on. Fast food for lunch and snacking throughout the day in the car, not to mention no exercise! Hopefully we'll make up for that today and the rest of our trip, by some hiking, white water rafting and hopefully can keep my diet in some sort of check.

Going to see an old college friend...Hopefully, I'll take advantage of hiking in the Great Rocky Mountains!

Going on vacation in a week, and I really wanted to lose some more before I go...not currently going in the right direction. Frustrating.

What a struggle. I am not focused at all! Up and down is how I go...very frustrating. Some close friends are gone for the week, so no reason to not keep to my diet/exercise plan! No reason, that is, except for those Longhorns! Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday may keep me distracted in the evenings...

Well, didn't get in any exercise yesterday. Bad habits. Friends are leaving for vacation, UT game...too many "reasons" to celebrate! Augh. Next week....next week....

Wow, this week is nearly over already! Slow and steady, but can be doing more with the diet portion of this weight-loss thing. Would love to have some structure to my days, but with my current personal situation that is just not a possibility...flying by the seat of my pants these days. Åugh.

So, a new week has begun and I need to get after it. The weekend was okay, but didn't exercise like I should have been and didn't eat terribly well. I suppose it may take a while for me to really have conscious eating habits. The drinking really does me in....

Augh, weighed in today and didn't go down...went UP slightly! YIKES! I think my body has some sort of day-delay when it comes to my weight loss/gain. I did great yesterday...ran, ate fairly well, didn't eat after 7...on the other hand, on Wednesday night, I fell off the wagon again a bit. Need to keep the eating/drinking with friends in check a bit more.

One of my goals this week, was to get a ring off of my finger. I'd become so bloated, and with the heat lately, my ring would just not come off and my hands felt fat and tight. Uncomfortable! Happy to report that I was able to slide that ring right off last night! Seriously, what a relief!

Another of my goals was to ease back into consistently working out...Even if that means walking/running only in the mornings. So far so good. Next thing is to possibly eat more throughout the day because by evening, I am so hungry I go nutso.

Well, I didn't manage to keep off the weight I painfully yet successfully lost last year! So, I'm back to use competition to try again.

Left over food that my kiddos leave is my downfall. As is eating while making dinner! I guess I will have to start being more conscious of that.

Walked with a friend on Monday and Tuesday, but fell off the eating healthy wagon last night so I ran instead this morning. Doing okay today... Need to start adding strength training again...Perhaps tomorrow..?

So, the competition is officially over, and while I lost 13 (!!) lbs last month, I am not quite done. I have taken a bit of a respite for the last couple weeks, but I am now ready to go back to what was working for me in the month of May: LOTS of running and eating more veggies along with low carb foods…! Eating low carb is hard to do for me – after all, it sure is easier to grab a fun colorful bag of processed food in a pinch, or eat the leftovers from my son’s McDonalds Happy Meal – but low carb is what works for me. I’ve got 3 young kiddos and they’re not big veggie eaters, so planning meals that require one thing for them and my husband and something different for me, becomes a bit of a challenge and lots of planning. Certainly doable, but takes more effort and determination!

This competition was a great pre-summer motivator for me. I’m more determined than ever to lose the last few pounds in time for our vacation in July! And then keep it off afterwards! UT Football season will have to take on either more running or a different menu in our house! ;o)

So, while I’m still about 10 lbs from my goal weight, I’ll get there – I’m working hard again! So, bring on another competition – I’ll be coming for you Stephanie! ;o)
