Not my weight....my drive, motivation and rank. One last push to get it respectable...although, we have a Catholic wedding on Friday night and a weekend of fishing on the Coast....not a good combination for weight loss.
Had a lot of fun....but, didn't do well on the weight loss or work outs...my bad!!!!
Last night: Sushi and beer.
Tonight: Dinner and beer
Tomorrow: Hangover, workout and diet....
I'm beginning to question my dedication....
The way I see it I'm going to have to do something drastic to catch Weslee48, Mr Hooker and fatguyinalittlecoat...anyone know the approximate weight of an arm or leg on a 235 pound guy? Amputation aside, it will take a Herculean effort to get in the money. Like George Washington leading the charge up San Juan Hill, Audie Murphy turning back the Tet offensive, Mel Gibson saving the Nakatomi Building, Bruce Willis taking on Long Shanks in Braveheart and Ned Beatty....nevermind...nothing good can ever come from mentioning Ned Beatty and Burt Reynolds on a canoe trip
What II would like to see for the season finales of True Blood and Twilight: Wesley Snipes and Kris Kristopherson show up slice, dice, shoot, bomb and ashify all the vampires. Then maybe we can start talking about sports again around the water cooler....or the Star Bucks coffee machine, which has replaced the water cooler...I need to get a new job...
Very little to do with weight loss or motivation....but as John Wayne said in Dirty Harry, "What if this is as good as it gets?"
529 miles to drive today....Joplin Missouri to Pflugerville....looking forward to sleeping in my own bed and breathing Texas air again....and using my own scale...I believe it likes me better than the one I've been using up here....
Baseball in Kansas today. No workouts, but diet is ok. Will try to finish strong when I get back in the ATX tomorrow.
In Joplin Missouri...not getting much opportunity to work out....diet is OK...losing ground.
Cook outs, late night visits by friends, broken patterns, makes for a long weekend of missed opportunities to keep my diet and workouts consistent. Next week will be in Joplin Missouri for Tuesday through Sunday. Lot of opportunities to either fail....same number ofr opportunities to succeed. This very well could be the make or break week for me.
Getting back in the game after my disastrous family reunion weekend. Spin bike and weight lifting in the afternoon is the ticket...and I'm doing well on the diet. We'll see how I handle this weekend....another baseball weekend...followed by a week long baseball tournament in Joplin, Missouri. If I can stay away from the other dads, beer and restaurants from Tuesday through Saturday of next week...okay, if I can stay away from restaurants next week...
Family Reunion; Keg beer, barbeque, desserts, beer, horse shoes, beer, losing money on horse shoes beer, lack of control equals a 3+ pound gain. Hopefully it's just water (beer) weight and I'll get rid of it in a few days.
I'm in the heat a lot these days, watching my son play baseball. Drinking a ton of water and doing well on my diet. Now, if I could just get serious about my workouts...maybe we could make this thing interesting.
Last week was a poor showing. Didn't handle myself too well on the trip to Lubbock. I blame my friends, the weather, my uncomfortable hotel bed, the local eateries and bars....OK, I really blame myself...and my friends...they're a bad influence ;o)
Baseball, rain, hotel, food, beer, birthday party, etc. + no workout = 2 lb. gain.
Heading to Lubbock for my son's baseball tournament. Lot of water and access to a gym in the hotel. Should not hurt my program. I need to get more consistent with my workouts. The diet is going well...my laziness of late is a limiting factor.
OK, weight this morning was 237...not 137... You folks at the top of the leader board are safe...for now.
Spent 5 days in Arkansas last week for my son's baseball tournament...guess I wasn't impressed with the food.Drank tons of water did a lot of sweating and very little eating, together with some moderate work outs. I guess it was a pretty good combination, as I had my best weekend since the competition began.
On the road in Fayetteville. Hotel gym and travel food....we'll see how it works out.
My team lost...and I gained...Numb nutz buddy brought pizza and beer and his LSU shirt, cap and attitude to my house to watch the game. Wasn't a good night for me or the Longhorns....we're not happy. I'll punish myself today. The Longhorns can punish the Tigers tonight.
Had a good weekend. Steak dinner at Salt Grass for Father's day kinda' threw me off. It was worth it.
Looks like I'll have another temptation filled weekend. Heading to Dallas for my son's baseball tournament. Dad's usually get together after games to drink beer, eat poorly, lie about our past sports exploits and second guess the coaches. I think I can hold off on the beer and bad food...but, I'm sure I'll do a lot of lying and second guessing....
Staying with a buddy. Hoping they have a gym available.
Time to add a little weight to the program. I've been basing my program so far on diet and cardio today I'm getting back into the weight room. For the next few weeks I'm going to tweak the diet. Increase protein and lower carbs. We'll see how that works.
Another baseball tournament this weekend....we'll see how successful I am staying away from the hot dogs and beer...I miss them both...
Last day of orientation. Stayed on diet for the most part with a few mis-steps. Hotel gym has a stationary bike, that doesn't work and a cheap eliptical/nordic track cross piece of crap machine that sounds like my first car ('72 Vega - 4 Cylinder...sometimes 3). There was room for push and sit ups, so all wasn't lost. Did have plenty of opportunity to walk around Tech campus in the heat. Drank a lot of water...Should be ready to hit the ground running in Austin this evening. Haven't weighed in this week, but the pants do feel a little looser...although I still have to hold my breath to tie my shoes.....
Watched two baseball games in San Marcos this morning. Drove home to Pflugerville, picked up the family and headed to Lubbock. Ran into a horrendous sand storm in Snyder...son may be having second thoughts about becoming a Raider...doesn't like the taste of sand. Tomorrow begins the first of three days of Red Raider orientation...hope the thunderstorms and tornadoes wash the sand out of the air.
Got to the hotel too late to work out, but stayed on the diet....will spend some time in the gym tomorrow...may have to wear a mask...did I mention the sand storm?
Eight hours of driving is no work out....maybe on the way home I'll try running out of gas and pushing the car to a gas station.
My weight loss to date is due to diet and a move from sweet tea and coffee to water... although I did have one small glass of wine last night...old habits. Now I have to get into the gym. I have taken the first step. My gym bag is under my desk at work... since Monday. Out of town this weekend for my son's college orientation. Working out shouldn't be an issue. Have access to a gym at the hotel and plenty of time....now sticking to my diet during that time...gonna' be tough...
Yesterday was my first full day of competition...it was also my 20th Wedding Anniversary. Took my wife out to eat Sushi...had a few beers...and some wine. So, I back-slid on my first day. Back in the saddle today...turned down an invite for Vietnamese food for lunch. I just this moment realized that August is a long way off...I'm going to miss Asian food...and beer.
