  • Favorite workout music:
I usually listen to any kind of upbeat, fast-paced music. Either that, or I listen to Broadway showtunes :).
  • Fitness interests
I love, love, love kick boxing or any other martial arts based exercise program. I also like step aerobics as well. Pilates, yoga, and running outside rank high on the interest scale as well. I like to play soccer occasionally and I'd like to get into tennis. I'm not one of those people who can hop on a treadmill every day for an hour. When I go to the gym, I typically either head to a class or do about an hour of cardio.
  • Fitness Goals
I'd like to shed a few pounds and tone up all over.
  • Favorite Books
I'm a subscriber to Self magazine.

About me
I'm a full-time student at Texas A&M University. I try to balance my time between school, my friends, and alone time for myself. About 4-5 times a week, I try to get in at least an hour workout.

It's finals week, so trying to eat well and working out are kind of low on the totem pole. However, I did manage to squeeze in a 50 minute workout: 35 min of kick boxing and about 15 minutes of ab and back work.

I tried this new DVD called Tai Fit. It was really fast paced and definitely not for beginners. I loved it.

Usually, when I get really busy, I tend to use DVD's to fit in my workouts. Hopefully, when I go home this week, I can head back to the gym and start going to classes again.

Anyway, back to the books.

I read in Self magazine that those who record their daily activities in some sort of form, be it a blog or diary, are more likely to stick to their fitness goals.

I really want to tone up in time for summer; I've always been the awkward friend next to the girl with the perfect bikini body (cheesy, but true).

Anyway, I'm going to try and keep a log of how many minutes a day I workout and what activities I did for the day.

So, today:

35 min light weight training

45 min of pilates, half w/weights.
