My weight was a little higher on the scale at the gym than the one at my house. I was a little disappointed but overall still quite happy with my results. I dropped 4 dress sizes throughout this competition. I didn't really do any of the unhealthy quick weight loss things at the end because I want to continue on my weight loss path. I DON'T WANT TO GAIN THIS WEIGHT BACK!!!!!
I feel like I have really developed some new healthy eating habits and plan on continuing those. I still need to work on my workout habits. I haven't really developed a workout routine that works for me yet. Overall, I think this was a great idea. It motivated me to lose some weight that I have been trying to get off for a while.

looking forwad to the weigh in. I've been working out a lot the last few days and I haven't seen the lbs fall off. I'm looking forward to a day off tomorrow. Then right back on the band wagon.

Actually got to do 4 miles around the lake. The in-laws are in town to help watch our daughter while we try to finish strong. Hubby's still in 2nd and he ran 6 today. Got our dietary plan ready for the final push.

So far today I've been able to really focus on eating right and exercising. I've already worked out twice today. Hoping to get a third workout in before bed and maybe some yoga.

New Goal: Work out at least 5 times this week. I've got to get into a workout routine. It is just so much easier to watch TV :)

Throughout this competition, I've found it extremely hard to develop any type of Workout "routine". I think that's the key to not only doing well in a competition like this but also, in developing lifestyle habits that will maintain the weight loss even after the competition is over. With 2 weeks to go, I still hope to create some sort of consistent work out regiment.

Went shopping yesterday and and the sales lady told me she thought my normal size would be to big. :) That's motivating!!!

Definitely reached a plateau of sorts. Will try and squeeze in some exercise and maybe a swim here or there if my hubby will watch the lil' one. :-)

Even though I didn't do an official workout this weekend, I stayed pretty active by chasing around the baby, party in the park, shopping, cleaning, and catching up from the week of being sick. My goal for this upcoming week is to get at least 4 workouts in!!

I'm still a tiny bit under the weather but I'm feeling a lot better. I've gained a little weight back but that is not a bad thing since I'm sure the loss was water weight. I need to focus on working out for the rest of the challenge. I have fallen off the wagon in that arena.

I know the recent weight loss is because of the stomach bug, but is sure is nice to see those numbers on the scale. I know some of the weight will come back because I'm dehydrated but I'm going to try to keep some of it off!

My family has avoided illness for the greater part of this challenge and the first 8 months of our lil' ones life. But that all changed this weekend. We got a bug of some sort that's tearing through all of us. Great for weight loss, but bad for the fact it'll all come back on later.

This has been a pretty bad week. I haven't worked out or been eating right. These lulls seem to be coming pretty quickly and with only a few weeks left I can't afford them. I'm hoping to recharge after my visit to the spa today and focus for the finish. Especially the eating part, need to eat more vegetables!

I haven't been getting much sleep lately so it has been really hard to find the energy to work out. I keep trying to get refocused but nothing seems to be working. I have a trip to the spa scheduled this weekend. Maybe that will help.

I had a rough day yesterday. I think I worked out to hard on Friday and I was super sore yesterday so I took the day off from working out. I also did some stress eating... Why is ice cream so good when it is hot outside??? At least it didn't have much effect on my weight. Back on track today.

In thinking about how our vacation went, I realized I've had a paradigm shift. I didn't think I did that well while we were away. I only worked out 3 times and I ate ok but not great. However compare that to six weeks ago, I did really well. That is just the thing I was looking for with this challenge. A lifestyle change. Looks like it is working so far. Now, for a goal. I'd like to break through the top 10. Time to get back to serious!!

My husband and I both did well on the trip. However it was hard for me to find time to work out this week. Need to make that a priority when I return.

Up in the mountains with my hubby still. We've been hiking everyday and eating a ton if vegtables. It also helps to split meals when we go out to eat. Hoping I make it back either even or down a couple of lbs.

Having a fun time traveling, but the diet and lack of exercise really hurts. Add to that my going chocolate crazy and female issues, and that explains my weight gain. This is all about up and downs I guess. Hope to end it on an up note.

About to begin a 12-hour road trip with husband, daughter, dog and my in-laws. Then it's a week in the mountains! Won't get to swim for a work out as much, but hopefully we'll get some hiking in. I'll be using a different scale to do my online weigh-ins, but I hope it's not too different. Who knows, maybe I'll come back and be down 3-4 pounds!

Been working out, eating right, but I feel like I'm starting to plateau a bit. I need something to push me over the edge. I need something to motivate me and re-energize me. It definitely helps to have my husband in this with me and he is doing great! He's been in the top 5 this entire time and the pounds are flying off. In a way that's both motivating and frustrating. We'll see how we both do with this upcoming vacation to the mountains. Hopefully we'll hike a couple of times a day and enjoy being out of this Austin heat (average temp in Ruidoso, NM 78 degrees)

I decided to buy some new workout clothes to help motivate me to work out. I purchased them a size smaller that what I am currently wearing. They are tight but they fit. And they remind me of why I need to keep working out :)

June 24th, 2009

Scheduling has become a major issue with a 7 month old. Do I sleep when she sleeps? (which is rarely) Do I exercise when she sleeps? How do I fit it all in? Walking with her in her stroller is a nice work out in the Texas sun but not nearly rigorous enough for the type of weigh loss I'm looking for. Having my husband doing this challenge with me is a big help and motivating. We're trying to take turns taking care of the kid while we exercise, but it's hard to do that on such little sleep. And now we have a trip planned for next week so it'll be really tough.

I had a rough weekend diet wise. I think the trip to the Salt lick did me in. I think my first diet goal will be to stop eating out all together.

June 19th, 2009

I am trying really hard to make working out a priority. It is a challenge. This morning on the elliptical machine, my 30 min workout took about 50 minutes but I got it done. I have a 7 month old, a puppy and currently have a 16 yr old staying with me so my attention and time is spread pretty thin. Also, I bought a wii active at the beginning of this challenge and I have been using it. I am surprisingly sore. That means it must be working:) This week I have also tried to make healthier decisions when it comes to eating. Looks like it has paid off. I've lost 4 lbs.

June 16th, 2009

I am trying to use this competition to make some much needed lifestyle changes. Life has become so busy that I've let working out fall to the wayside. For the first few weeks I'm going to work on making my workouts a priority.
